My name is Kelly McQuade and I am a first year student at Quest University. When I heard about the GBR Youth Paddle project upon my arrival at Quest in September, I immediately knew that I wanted to be involved. I have always been a person who loves the outdoors and experiencing everything that nature has to offer us. I attended summer camp for 11 years and enjoyed going on canoe paddles and looking at the scenery. Throughout my years, I noticed the trees on the mountainside being clear cut and I hated seeing the beautiful nature destroyed. This is why I want to stand up for the Great Bear Rainforest. I hope to raise awareness about the Northern Gateway pipeline and show the people involved with Enbridge that youth do care and can make a difference in our society.
